A Lovely Duckling 可愛的小鴨
Duckling, oh, a lovely duckling, 小鴨，噢，可愛的小鴨
Wears a velvet blouse of yellow; 身著黃絨衣;
Splashing in the muddy shallow, 濺拍在淺淺的泥水中
Look, then, her new garment smearing. 瞧，不久，她的新衣污點斑斑
On the sands she plays and wallows, 沙灘上嬉鬧打滾
Tumbling gaily in the evening. 傍晚快樂地翻滾
After hunting for worms and roes, 在覓食小虫和魚子后
Sleeps then, her beak under her wing. 把嘴埋在翅膀里，恬然入睡

Despite her own pain! 尽管你忍受了痛苦

At the risk of her own! 冒着自己生命的危险
I didn't remember 我没有忘记
I grew on Mother's milk; 我吃着妈妈的乳汁成长
But I did remember 我记得
Mother lulled me to sleep 妈妈轻哼着歌催眠我入睡
Long night after long night; 一夜又一夜
And I did remember 我记得
Mother told me all the tales 妈妈给我讲的故事

A little brook tumbles down the mountain. 一条小溪翻滚下山
A narrow footpath snakes beside it, 一条狭道蜿蜒在旁
Which I follow, treading on the steps 我跟随着，踏阶而下
The brook's so clear, so cool; 小溪清澈，凉爽
Sometimes it flows smooth. 有时它平缓地流动
So I take off my shoes 我脱下鞋子
And dip my feet in the water. 赤足浸入水中
Oh, so delicious on the hot day, 噢，多么怡人，在热天
Like eating some ice-cream. 像吃冰淇淋一样
I wish I could turn into a fish 我希望变成一条鱼
And swim in that lucid stream! 在清澈的溪流里游动

It is claret and sweet, 暗红又甘甜
But if I enjoy it too much at a time, 如果每次我享它太多
I will finish the bottle sooner. 很快我将饮完
My life's like a bowl of ice-cream. 我的生活就像一碗冰淇淋

How high, now low, now o'er a mossy stone, 忽高忽低，飞越长满藓苔的石头上
And now it flits athwart before my eye, 它正轻快地在我眼前掠过
Now stops to sip some dews on blades so green, 在绿绿的叶片上停下，抿一口露水
Or flaps from flower to flower, the pollen glean. 扑飞着从一朵花到另一朵花，收集花粉
I follow it over a limpid rill, 我跟随它跨越清澈的小溪
And round an arbor covered with the vine. 围绕着一个爬满藤的支架
