You Lean On My Shoulder
By Zhou Zhanlin
You lean on my shoulder
I seem to smell the elm seeds in village in childhood
A trail of faint scent in fresh and tender
Hangs on each morning when I open my wooden-door of cave-dwelling
With joy jumping on twigs of childhood
I have to keep the immobile pose
To let your delight as calm water on my shoulder
The lark in youth
Shuttles in unfindable alley
Moonlight pursues behind
Who wakes all the cocks in village
You lean on my shoulder
Like a rill of consciousness flowing through my mind
I’m like a wise fish
Who pours all the profound words.
The big boat over my head
Fills all the pistils in spring
Which’s waiting for a rainy season
To row from upper river
The mud and sand on river-bed
A lot look like an import water-bed
You lean on my shoulder
And I on happiness’
