Seven-words Poem  

Maritime Silk Road

In the moonlight I have heard the camel bells on the old Silk Road,

Through the windows of Malaysian Genting snatches of Han melodies.

Vermilion bird was joyful, seeing the five-colored parakeet from Malacca,

Chinese monk chanting on Grdhrakuta pleasantly surprised Hindu deities.

High reputation of Gedung Batu Temple outlives the vicissitudes of time,

Yogyakarta pagoda is anxiously awaiting the return of somebodies.

Sea lanes to Southeast Asia are fundamental to well-being of the region,

The purple clouds come from the east, bringing the sovereign remedies.

Maldives

Along Ellaidhoo's path, I am intoxicated with its tranquility,

Beautiful coral reefs honor the scuba enthusiasts singing.

Butterfly fishes are seen jumping out of the water,

Towards the blue sky is the eagle spreading its wings.

In the greenish mist and soft sunset rests my home,

Taking a siesta forget I am under hospitable roofing.

Casting my eyes to the horizon is the ocean almost calm,

Let me into the sky and sneeze at the sea billowing.

七律 马尔代夫观海

椰熏轻袅埃丽度，

Gwadar Port

Island chains like a string of pearls,

Puffy clouds floating across the Indian coasts,

I Look over the vast expanse of blue ocean.

Catching the local scenery,

How many things happened before and after,

I reminisce about the Chinese historical characters.

Zheng He's voyages came tearing,

It suggested a great rejuvenation,

People honor his seven naval expeditions.

When the tide is rushing in,

The waves are lashing against the rocks,

The sky is aglow with sunset colors.

Dreaming of Thomas Lawrence for his exploits,

Standing at the entrance to Gwadar Port,

I do not know where he is now.

Malacca Strait,

Saying nothing of the shining spear,

Somebody will abandon it to its fate.

Evil water monster is in hiding,

Mythological sea god is departing,

All will forget past betrayal and start laughing.

In the Persian Gulf,

A warm sea breeze blows,

Bamboo flute accompanies Arabic Retim.

岛链镶嵌，
云缭天竺，
澄碧无限。
一揽形胜，
感怀今古，
慷慨英灵赞。
楼船三宝，
东疆西界，

Tune: Prelude to Water Melody

Autumn Thoughts in Hong Kong

Located on the verge of Victoria harbour,

The clouds rise above the attic.

Through a century of trials,

The brotherhood endures all adversities in Central.

As the sun sinks below the peak,

Banyan trees on Mid-levels shiver in the wind,

I stare thoughtfully into the distance.

And the statue of liberty far away heaves a sigh,

Face it all, she wins just disillusioned feeling.

Years like song,

Behind the glittering facade,

Being full of ups and downs.

While Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs perform spells,

How to resist the financial predators' greed.

Celebrating with traditional Khotan dancing,

Chanting the return in imperishable Chinese verse,

May all hearts and hands be joined in a night.

Shores are widening at high tide,
New charms are replacing the old ones in numerous households.

香港秋思

维多利亚港，

云霭漫高楼。
北南无际，

中环何故起恩仇。
日落太平岚气，

风瑟半山榕树，

远思总难休。

叹息女神苦，

迷惘自由舟。

岁月歌，

繁华逐，
