Jo De La Rosa来自美国北卡罗莱纳州的奥兰治县，于2008年下半年正式出道，并在8月19日发行了首张专辑《Unscripted》。专辑《Unscripted》中的首支单曲《You can’t control me》是Jo在Bravo电视台的新剧《Date My Ex.》的主题歌，由immergent唱片公司发行。首张专辑不但有舞曲风格的歌曲，还有抒情的流行歌曲。Jo还录制了两首西班牙语歌曲。无论是Jo De La Rosa富有魅力的嗓音，还是张扬而不喧闹的编曲，都赋予了整张专辑不可抵挡的吸引力。
