山中一个夏夜，深得
象没有底一样；
黑影，松林密密的；
周围没有点光亮。
对山闪着只一盏灯———两盏
象夜的眼，夜的眼在看！

A summer night in the mountain is as deep
as without bottom;
Shadows, like thick pine woods;
are pitch black without any light.
Only one----- or two lamps on the mountain across are shining
like the eyes of night, the eyes of night are watching!
