《回忆》是音乐剧《猫》中的经典名曲，由导演特里沃·努恩作词，作曲家安德鲁·劳埃德·韦伯(Andrew Lloyd Webber)谱曲。这支经典唱段在《猫》中一共出现四次，以第二幕中魅力猫格里泽贝拉演唱最为著名——年老、落魄的格里泽贝拉向杰里科猫族唱起《回忆》，追念曾经的辉煌以期获得重生的机会。她的“回忆”蕴含着对未来美好生活的渴盼。

这首歌的创作颇为曲折。据说，在音乐剧周演前夕，导演对音乐部分还不甚满意，认为全剧缺少一个“核心唱段”，否则达不到情感和戏剧高潮。于是作曲家韦伯当晚构思一宿，最终写出了这首荡气回肠的著名歌曲。
回忆会说谎。曾有心理学实验表明，人的回忆中，愉快的记忆约占50%，普通的占30%，而不快只占20%。弗洛伊德也曾表示，人记取愉快的经验而将不愉快的遗忘。这让人不禁想起尼采的一句话——不愉快的事是潜藏着遗忘倾向的。

然而，人很容易被回忆桎梏，裹足不前。我们听过无数次伴着泪水的故事，那些故事的开头，都喜欢用一个“虽然……但是……”的句式——“虽然他/她伤害过我，但是他/她曾经也对我很好”。原谅和依恋在这样的句式中一次次被强调，倾诉者被暗涌的回忆拖入悲伤的漩涡。

伤害过我们的人和事被时光轻易地原谅，我们紧握着旧时光中零星残存的美好时刻，从中取暖。那道回忆自带的“柔光滤镜”，让我们将美好被无限地放大，当下则无限缩小。

可是你可曾想过，你分明值得过得更幸福，为何要活在回忆中？卡尔维诺在《看不见的城市》里曾有这样一句话：“你走了那么远的路，只是为了摆脱怀旧的负重”。

不如，像格里泽贝拉一样，唱起《回忆》，那些过去的，就让它过去。从过去汲取力量，只为拥抱更好的明天。
