Tune: Prelude of Nightingale Singing
The Louvre
Through the hallowed halls gently,
The Eye of Horus stares at me.
Round the galleries,
The statue steles and,
Sumptuous angels on the ceiling glide.
Past eight centuries,
Admirably endowed with glory,
Heroes known in the time of misfortune then.
With Camille Corot artistry,
Evocative depictions sparkle still.
In the charm of Sea Elf,
The gentle Venus,
With uneven hopes behind her.
The armless goddess,
Full of love-perplexing riddles,
Life touches her with immortality by now.
In timeless Time,
Coming and flying,
Under the fierce storm,
Nike in a s hallop to the sea.
With the her wings,
She quells contending rage,
And molestation falls.
Her silence face as before,
Mona Lisa affirmatively is,
A kind of bewitching spell.
Opaque dream of youth,
From which there is no waking,
Acquiring nostalgic glow,
Being naive and inattentive,
A thought perhaps in her mind.
Subtle fragrance floating and,
Strange and haunting calling,
Her countenance is pleasant always,
Sitting still now,
Her sweet condescension even.
Story of the smile,
Her terra incognita,
Spattering with awe.
Along the banks of Seine，
Louvre with stately grace.
The sights and the senses under the moon.
Strolling in plane trees,
The Water Lilies on my mind,
The Angelus in soft distress,
Dear to the heart is gone,
Light and glory in thick haze.
Flames scorch timbers in Notre Dame,
Louvre Pyramid is controversial there,
No clarity of sound and divine to purify the air,
The perplexity torts my heart again,
Hunchback still hides among the shadows far.
Propitious to the fleur-de-lis,
Which will charm descendants,
Make them all dance to it.

迷藏哂笑，
那知戏幻谦柔，
沉吟古今谁辨。
风花塞纳，
高蹇瑶台，
趁月光向晚。
碧桐下、
睡莲紫菀，
暮色钟鸣，

愁悰圣母，
嘲喧金字，
诸神魂逝难降祉，

Notes:
“Eye of Horus”: The Eye of Horus is one of the best-known symbols of ancient Egypt. Known also as the Wadjet, this magical symbol is believed to provide protection, health, and rejuvenation. Due to its powerful protective powers, the Eye of Horus was popularly used by the ancient Egyptians, both the living and the dead, as amulets.
“Water Lilies”: A series of approximately 250 oil paintings by French Impressionist Claude Monet (1840-1926). The paintings depict Monet's flower garden at his home in Giverny, and were the main focus of Monet's artistic production during the last thirty years of his life. Many of the works were painted while Monet suffered from cataracts.
“Hunchback”: The Hunchback of Notre-Dame is a French Romantic/Gothic novel by Victor Hugo, published in 1831. The story is set in Paris in 1482 during the reign of Louis XI. The gypsy Esmeralda (born as Agnes) captures the hearts of many men, including those of Captain Phoebus and Pierre Gringoire, but especially Quasimodo and his guardian Archdeacon Claude Frollo.
“Fleur-de-lis”: The fleur-de-lis or fleur-de-lys is a stylized lily that is used as a decorative design or motif. Many of the Catholic saints of France, particularly St. Joseph, are depicted with a lily. Since France is a historically Catholic nation, the fleur-de-lis became "at one and the same time, religious, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic", especially in French heraldry.
“Make them all dance to it”: A citation from “The Louvre”.“The Louvre”is a song recorded by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde for her second album, Melodrama. She co-wrote and co-produced the track with Jack Antonoff, with additional production from Flume and Malay. “The Louvre” is an electropop song which has influences of other genres such as indie rock and ambient music. Its name derives from the Louvre, an art museum in Paris, France.
