In Qaidam, I Lost a Horse
In the sky, the black clouds were low As if he were a divine wise man To bits of green on the Gobi desert Making immortal prayers
I was lost in the tamarisk forest Failing to find the direction of my heart O,my beloved horse I couldn't hear you neighing
Sandstorm was the natural painting master In my blank sight Piled up death
Would my horse be lost? Tears in my eyes Were the last hope in the morning in Qaidam
I Was a Loner under the Mandarin-duck Tree
In tamarisks and white thorn huddles on the Esligin prairie The happy couples smile more brightly than the tamarisk flowers Then, with tamarisks in one and white thorns in aother I was a loner under the Mandarin-duck Tree
Suddenly, the neighing of the horses beside me strucked my soul O,the lost horse When I seemed to be in despair There came the oracle of the Buddha
I was not demanding that we rode the grassland together But only wish, under the blue sky I could see you gallop so fast
Even if you could go back to Hoh Xil The snow mountains there Were Still your free homeland
Falling in love with Kunlun Mountains and clouds
The Kunlun mountains are in the arms of clouds The clouds are in my arms I brush away three thousand troubles Watching the sunshine dancing
The altitude of five thousand meters Not higher than my longing thoughts I gaze at the distance Falling in love with Kunlun mountains and clouds
Hoh Xil is my pasture for aye I fly my dream, fly everything My neighbors are yaks and Tibetan antelopes
The Kunlun Mountain, my placeof pilgrimage Take off the haloxylon-like kindness and bitterness From now on, I'll run to the distance with my dste-red horse
