A Wandering Soul
By William He
Spring in mountain drifting into melancholy slowly, The pillowy clouds are suffusing grayish silken sky. The true hearted is listening without ears wide open, Double tortured soul wistful still on the rainy night. Instead of baptizing the mind with the astral lights, The caring voices and footsteps better on the earth. Soulstealers of yielding all the hopes to incantation, Breathing silent sigh is doleful song of the spirits now.

Notes: “A Wandering Soul”: Lyrics by George Jones from the 20 Gospel Greats album - including song video, artist biography, translations and more: "Oh, lend me a hand, please Lord, and guide me. And help lead me down the road that is right.Oh, carry me through these hours of darkness. And show me the path of shining light." “Soulstealers”: Soulstealers by Philip A. Kuhn. Soulstealers is a masterful work on the political sociology and the psychology of power during a brief but dramatic episode at the height of the Qing dynasty. Midway through the reign of the Ch'ien-lung emperor, Hungli, mass hysteria broke out among the common people. It was feared that sorcerers were roaming the land, clipping off the ends of men's queues, and chanting magical incantations over them in order to steal the souls of their owners. “Sigh”: Edwyn Collins Lyrics: “where compassion fades and dies, with a heavy sigh”. "The pious preacher of old London town, will pace his pulpit with a studies frown, and the things he worships on the overground, are more profane than profound, so I'm never going back".
