上邪
上邪，
我欲与君相知，
长命无绝衰。
山无陵，
江水为竭，
冬雷震震夏雨雪，
天地合，
乃敢与君绝。
1. Oh Heaven Above!
Oh heaven above!
I’ll shower you with my love.
Let it endure despite the fates above.
When the mountains do not raise high
Or the rivers run dry,
Or winter thunders come by,
Or summer snows fly,
Or the earth meets the sky,
Only then shall I abandon my love.
2. A Pledge
By heaven,
I shall love you
To the end of time!
Till mountains crumble.
Streams run dry,
Thunder rumbles in winter,
Snow falls in summer,
And the earth mingles with the sky——
Not till then will I cease to love you！
3. By Heaven！
I will be your comrade，
and may our friendship never fail.
When mountains have no peaks
and rivers run dry,
when thunder rolls in winter
and summer snow falls—
only then will I desert you!
4. Oh，by Heaven
Oh，by Heaven,
I will love thee,
And my love to thee will last forever--
Till mountains crumble,
Rivers go dry,
Thuder roars in winter,
Snow falls in summer,
And the earth mingles with the sky.

In summer snow fall far and nigh,

6. Almighty on High！
A love song，sung by a girl to her lover, in the form of a mock-serious oath to the supreme deity.
Almighty on High!
I long to know my lord,
Let our love never fade or die
Till mountains have no peaks,
Or rivers run dry,

Or snow pours down in summer,
Till the skies merge with the ground--
Then may I die with my lord!
