Poem in Tune of Zuihuayin
by Li Qingzhao of Song Dynasty
Fogs thin, clouds dense, woeful all day long;
Ruinao1 incense burned up in a beast-shaped brass burner.
Now again is the Day of Double Ninth;
Porcelain pillow, and gauze-canopied bed,
Cold penetrates the gauze at midnight. (gauze
Drink wine at east fence after twilight; (at 不对,应beside 或under.
The sleeves filled with faint scent. (faint scent
Don’t say it’s not transported; (消魂用“transported" 没有达意)
The west wind blows up the curtain,
And I find myself thinner than yellow flowers.
Li QingZhao Tipsy In The Shadow OF Flower
Light hazes and heavy clouds gloom whole day.
Incensing smog muffles a beast-shaped brass censer.
Comes the Day of Double Ninth another.
Still my jade pillows in the gauzy couch stay
Immersed In the cool midnight air.
At dusk I drink wine under west fence
From which faint scent of chrysanthemums permeates my sleeves.
Should not blame more my melancholic soul,
As West Wind blows the curtain to uproll,
More emaciated I grow than a yellow petal.
