浓浓的绿意

在深夜，目睹你的闪现
蓦然一惊——
久违了的身影，似乎完全陌生

什么时候消失，在哪儿
哦，几乎是无从感知的
——在你赫然显现之前

弥漫着，多么特殊的气息
而姿态是骄傲的，不合作的
大大咧咧——像是来自魏晋

我的手心在出汗，因为怎么也
找不到能够收容你的
一个处所——甚至，我感到羞愧

而我不能饶恕自己犯下的错误
——居然，由于一个寒战
你再次被淹没，消失无踪

在深夜，失踪者——你留下了
一个鄙夷的眼神，若无若有的冷笑
让我久久地，脊背发凉

◎The Missing    by Yang Xie

In this midnight hour, I find you before my eyes,
A most inexplicable shock---
Long time no see, we are now complete strangers.

When and where did you go missing,
Ah, so hard for me to recall,
All the while before you show up again?

You bring to this space, ah, an unusual atmosphere.
Your demeanor, proud and uncompromising,
As if you can’t care less, like someone from Wei & Jin Period.

My hands are sweating, for I am unable to
Find any quarter to properly
House you---so much so that I feel ashamed.

But I can’t forgive myself for my past mistakes.
It was only because of a cold spell,
I left you buried, gone missing.

In this midnight hour, you, the long-missing one---cast
A contemptuous look at me; your indistinguishable sneer
Sends a chill down my spine, for a very long time.

中心广场  我在广场中心的草坪上
竖起的雕塑是一枚  巨大的灰石蛋

一位杰出雕塑家与这座城市的
灵魂式的雕塑  被一群惊愕的市民所围观

七嘴八舌的议论和指责中  我悄悄离去
因为我已在它的底座  刻上了不必要的注释

本城诞生于一块在泥土中不断膨胀着的石头
一块巨大的同时一直不断疯狂裂变着的石头

◎The Sculpture    by Yang Xie

At Central Square, on the lawn in the heart of the Square,
I was there to erect my sculpture--a gigantic limestone egg;

A prominent sculptor and his creation that spoke for
The soul of the city were surrounded by a crowd of puzzled citizens

Ranting their negative opinions. I left without a word
For I had engraved a needless annotation on its base:

“This city originated from an ever-expanding rock, i.e.
A giant bedrock that is growing ever larger by its own fission.”
