Vieques，My Girlish Island

They have left chains of aggression and violence pushed out by the solidarity of good people who claimed for peace and justice while standing united they have left obituaries of Vieques Flora and Fauna response of a resentful biodiversity they have left writings that speak about them bloody verses-cursed poems which violated her flesh the innocence of a girlish island they have left behind pounding noises of weapons and military practices that sickened her people disturbing peace from her surroundings leaving waste and desolation active poison contaminants an unexploded ordnance under a polluted sky They have left but on their shoulder lies great guilt and responsibility and I a simple island seagull will tell you what they did to us “Vieques, Why are you crying? ”
