求婚译诗
《一》

儒尔夫•沃尔多•爱默生(Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803—1882) 美国诗人 心中的恋人对自己尚未接受,还保留着某种距离,甚至神色警觉、目光抗拒。然而诗人却突发奇想、果断出击,以这首直抒胸臆的情诗相赠。诗的结尾堪称格言警句。这执着的追求出人意外,又在情理之中,当然也会收到出奇制胜的效果。
呵，美丽华贵的姑娘，
高天的火炬将我们的双眼一同点亮！
我要如此推测，
我要这样猜想。
你用温柔征服我的意志，
你用圣洁抚慰我的衷肠；
我要如此推测，
我要这样猜想。
呵！我要大大方方面对心中的恋人，

托马斯•希普曼(Thomas Shipman 1632—1680) 英国诗人。这首诗虽然是当面口头求婚，但语言却古朴高雅，如“aye”、“fast”、“thou”、“grace”及“prithee” 等等，全无口语痕迹。这种诗歌的语言风格必须仔细分辨,谨慎移植；否则就会亵渎诗魂与艺魂,辜负作者与读者。
请你明确吿诉我，
对我爱还是不爱？
你微笑又不将我接纳，
你皱眉又不让我离开。
如果你不爱我，
就请说得直接痛快；
我不能久久拖延，
我不愿迟迟等待。
如果你真的爱我，
也请说个清楚明白；
那我的一切都属于你，
否则，我的命运另有安排。
是黑就说黑，
是白就说白；
我不能忍受一波三折，
我厌恶听凭命运作怪。

只要能与 “爱人” 相聚,极地的半年长夜也会转瞬即逝,千古的冰雪中也有春光；只要能与 “爱人” 相聚,即使卖身到骄阳似火的荒野承担苦役也心甘情愿。爱情就是生命,生命就是爱情。但是,只有运用高雅的音符才能谱就这爱的乐章,决不可走调。
纵使将我遣送格陵兰的远疆，
纵使那半年的黑夜悠远漫长；
只要能把我的恋人拥在怀里，
长夜转瞬即逝，千古冰雪也有春光。
纵使把我卖到印度的穷乡辟壤，
纵使头上终日顶着似火的骄阳；
只要我的恋人陪拌在我的身边，
白天一晃而过，苦伇毫不放在心上。
只要你情愿随我在崇山峻岭漂泊，
只要你乐意拌我到海角天漄流浪；
我会成天向你表达爱意，

这位求爱者显得有些怪异,爱仅仅延续了三天,可能还会再延续三天,便认为就是天下最执着的爱。与彭斯的海誓山盟相比,大异其趣。然而,切莫以为这位牢骚满口的求爱者心不专、情不真,那些夸张的词语同样能表达更急切的爱的渴求。
千真万确! 我对她的爱,
已总共整整延续了三天；
我还要再爱三天, 如果天从人愿。
世上谁曾看见?
哪怕寻到天涯海角, 哪怕走遍天上人间。
我对她没有半句赞扬,
心里只有牢骚怨言；
爱让我急不可耐,
如果不是因为她,
如果不是因为她的容颜；
我早就把爱人换过一打又一打,
岂能一直等到今天。
The Constant Lover
