Spring in a Pleasure Garden
Hawaii
Cicadas singing in the trees, Nenes fly over Diamond Head, A magic land of mountains and sands. At Honolulu on a summer day, Oloupena Falls tumble over rocks; Fresh betel leafs sway, Winds blow coconuts on hillocks. The Kilauea Caldera always, Bursting its seams to the cay locally, Home of the volcano and doorway. From a sky of untarnished blue, The sun beams down upon the beach, My heart belongs to the sea.
Enormously powerful fleet was concentrated. Japan sought hegemony then, A surprise assault on the fortress before dawn. Friends were exposed as foes for a moment, Pearl Harbor suffered a tragedy near the seaside; To extricate themselves from the predicament, The Battle of Midway was known worldwide. In front of the sooty bulk of the ridge, The tidal in the silent bay, Force can never destroy right. Time is fleeting, Everyone wants everyday is like Sunday, But caution is the parent of safety.
