Praises for the Euphrates Poplar 1. Trees of beauty Symphony of life With your sturdy arms against the sand's bosom You dance with the wind and waves You stand upright Despite all that you have endured Each gust of sandy wind Leaves behind lines of an eternal poem On this raft called the desert You sail with Earth, adrift in space And like sand You leave behind gold and warmth Trees of beauty Noble brides Each of your golden leaf Is a blessing from God You sing beneath the blue sky And dance with the sandy wind My heart Soars 2. Trees of beauty Like standing monuments Carving legends and Telling tales from the dunes History flows by like a river You stand unfazed In the setting sun, among specs of sand You stand Eons of wind and frost Carved your noble spirit A thousand years of standing your ground Upholding a thousand years of solitude Your body A bold sculpture A graceful note In this piece of symphony called history You are an armoured battalion Guarding the dunes Firm and indomitable Smiling at the winds' rise and fall Trees of beauty Praises for the legends 3. For a millennium You stand in the desert Shining bright like the stars Spring sprouts tender green branches Autumn bares fruits and golden leaves All while the sandy wind blows For a millennium After your fall Your last breath comforts the land The desert preserves life Souls return triumphantly And gaze into space with no regrets As if still dancing to The ebb and flow of the sea of sand Come thunder and storm, no tears shall be shed For a millennium After your death Your bodies become monuments and witnesses of this world. 胡杨礼赞 东方朔南     （一） 美丽的胡杨    生命的交响 你坚实的臂膀贴紧沙的胸膛 舞风戏浪 你饱经沧桑 挺起脊梁 每一次风沙掠过 都留下不朽的诗行 你乘沙漠之舟    伴地球在宇宙间徜徉 与沙一样 留下永恒的滚烫和金黄 美丽的胡杨 骄傲的新娘 你的每一片金叶 都是上帝赐予的吉祥 你在蓝天下歌唱 与沙海风韵共舞 我心 飞翔   （二） 美丽的胡杨 恰似丰碑座座 书写英雄的浪漫 讲述大漠的传说 历史长河 不曾把你淹没 夕阳下   沙粒中 你的风骨依然硕硕 风霜岁月 铸就了你高傲的品格 千年不倒 固守千年的寂寞 你的英姿 如刚毅的镌刻 在世纪的乐章里 尽显婀娜 你是铁马金戈 厮守大漠 威武不屈 笑看风起云落 美丽的胡杨 英雄的赞歌      （三） 高傲的胡杨千年不倒 在大漠中挺立    敢与日月同辉 春来青枝滴翠      秋来金黄累累 尽在风沙为伍时吐气扬眉 倒下的胡杨千年不死 一息尚存 仍把大地抚慰 大漠的精英让生命凯旋 凝望苍穹   无怨无悔 依稀风舞情醉 笑看沙海潮涨潮退 任凭雨打风残   有血无泪 死后的胡杨千年不朽 条条躯干化作尊尊丰碑 铭刻世事真伪   见证千秋功罪 ———— 翻译感悟： 选择单复数纠结啊~ 我感觉中译英最难的就是四字词语以及成语了…… 翻成不拗口又自然的英文需要适当的distortion。着重把诗中的情感和画面翻译出。
