Spring in a Pleasure Garden

In Blue Hawaii

Cicadas are humming a tune,
Nenes stand on Diamond Head,
Islands are floating on the sea.
Oahu in embrace of aquamarine crystal,
Betel leafs hiding hollow rifts,
Oloupena Falls wash the silence,
Green scent in palm-time drifts.
The Earth itself is liquefying,
Bursting its seams to the cay,
The volcano boiling rock soups love on the world.
Sky of untarnished blue,
The sun beams down upon the beach,
Standing out splendidly with grace.

Those shadowy portraits that the mind once held.
Behind the short chronicle,
Shrine's jitters whisking its vagrant winks once.
Ares had consumed the human heart and mind,
The blood from Pearl Harbor likes a stream,
Sprinkling with the dust of abandoned lives,
Putting the Midway through a living hell.
In front of the sooty bulk of the ridge,
The familiar rhythm of the tidal wave,
Upon that dreadful day's poignant memory now.
The time is fleeting,
Prior enthusiasms are brought to a lull,
Under the dirt nobody keeps it real.

高枝蜩栖，

飞流跳激，
香漫棕攒。
岩液流金，
火蛇摆尾，
盘绕斜瞻拉奈湾。
靛青浅,
又四弦伴奏，
声越明滩。

景深藤老榕环。
光阴辍、
和魂笼寂烟。
乍虏云赤焰，
升龙驭气；
回旗屿链，
叠浪临渊。
水露珍珠，
天盈海镜，
魔鬼鱼眠仍纠缠。
数落日，
且影随光去，
苍壁苔斑。


Notes:
“Diamond Head”: Diamond Head sits prominently near the eastern edge of Waikiki’s coastline. Hawaii’s most recognized landmark is known for its historic hiking trail, stunning coastal views.
“Oloupena Falls” One of four very tall waterfalls that drop down the cliffs on the north shore of Molokai, Hawaii. These roughly 3,000 foot cliffs are the tallest sea cliffs in the world and are adorned by very narrow and impossibly tall waterfalls. The drainage area is small, but the constant rains keep them flowing.
“Shrine”: Yasukuni Shrine, a Japanese Shinto shrine to war dead who served the Emperor of Japan during wars from 1867-1951. Yasukuni is a shrine to house the actual souls of the dead as kami, or "spirits/souls"defined in the English words.  
"Ares": The Greek god of courage and war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera. The Greeks were ambivalent toward him. He embodies the physical valor necessary for success in war but can also personify sheer brutality and bloodlust.
“Midway”: In May 1942 the Imperial Japanese Navy launches an attack on the island of Midway in the Pacific Ocean. Securing it will provide a base for operations against Pearl Harbour and ultimately allow them to attack the US west coast. However, US Navy Intelligence has worked out their plan. Admiral Chester Nimitz sends two US Task Groups with three aircraft carriers to set a trap for the Japanese fleet. What follows is one of the most important battles in history.
