让钢铁和水泥退后

草回到它的籽，落叶回到枝头

让羊群回到山脚下，流浪的鸟回到它们的巢。让夕阳回到东方的霞光

让我们回到母亲柔软的目光。让

人类回到童年，盘中的鱼

回到溪流。让泪水回到眼窝

城市回到吱呀的柴扉。让火回到

燧石，子弹回到枪膛

让时间回到静止的表盘。让星星

回到我们的仰望。海水回到高贵的

源头。让赤子回到泥土

谎言回到嘴唇。让散发油墨香味的

课本回到绿色的帆布书包。让风

回到旗帜的身旁

Let steel and concrete stand back

Let the grass return to its seeds, the fallen leaves to their branches

Let the sheep return to the foot of the mountains, the wandering birds to their nests. Let the sunset return to the eastern sunglow

Let us return to the soft gaze of our mothers. Let

human return to childhood, the fish on the plates

To the streams. Let the tears return to the eye sockets  

The city to the creaking wooden doors. Let fire return to

Flint, bullets to chambers

Let time return to the still dial. Let stars

return to our looking up. The waters of the sea to their noble

Source. Let naked children return to clay

The lie to the lips. Let the ink-scented

textbooks return to the green canvas bag. Let the wind

Return to the flag.
