Autumn Thoughts in Hong Kong

Located on the verge of Victoria harbour,

The clouds rise above the attic.

Through a century of trials,

The brotherhood endures all adversities in Central.

As the sun sinks below the peak,

Banyan trees on Mid-levels shiver in the west wind,

I stare thoughtfully into the distance.

And the statue of liberty far away heaves a sigh,

Face it all, she wins just disillusioned feeling.

Years like song,

Behind the glittering facade,

Being full of ups and downs.

While Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs perform spells,

How to resist the financial predators' greed.

Celebrating with traditional Khotan dancing,

Chanting the return in imperishable Chinese verse,

May all hearts and hands be joined in a night.

Shores are widening at high tide,
New charms are replacing the old ones in numerous households.

维多利亚港，

云霭漫高楼。
北南无际，

中环何故起恩仇。
日落太平岚气，

风瑟半山榕树，

远思总难休。

叹息女神苦，

迷惘自由舟。

岁月歌，

繁华逐，

几春秋。
美林高盛，

金鳄迷雾不堪愁。
演绎于阗乐舞，

吟咏三闾文字，

一夜版图收。
潮满岸宽阔，

国祚有鸿猷。
