I was also going to use cottage instead of thatched cot. But cottage means 农舍 more than草舍。what is your idea,please?

信是松花江浪漫 ------哪来的夜啊？诗句里没有啊？我知道实际的情形是夜晚，可是翻译时不能加没有的呀，哈哈哈

Hut is better, but mine is as good as Lao Du' s in Chengdu, thatched for 9 layers.

Well, buddy, you shot yourself in the foot this time. No, that is why we don't need to mention 'night', for bonfire would let your readers figure out whether it is day time or night time.  
Bonfire in your poem virtually stands for the word 'night', anyway, I give you the benefit of the doubt.
