无心剑

劳劳亭
The Laolao Pavilion

天下伤心处，
劳劳送客亭。
春风知别苦，
不遣柳条青。
【无心剑译本】
This is a place that breaks heart,
At Laolao Pavilion we are to part.
Spring breeze sees parting sorrow,
Thus does not sprout the willow.
Alas! With such a grieved heart,
Laolao Pavilion sees people part.
This grief, the vernal wind knows,
So unwilling to green the willows.

【自娱自乐译本】
It is a heart-rending place in universe,
At Laolao arbour we've to bid farewell.
The parting sorrow vernal wind can tell,
So no green willows it'll blow to nurse.
【青衫来客译本】
What's the heartbroken place under the sky?
It is the Laolao Kiosk where to say goodbye
The vernal wind knows the pain of departure
It does not green the willow with its nurture

【天路客译本】
Laolao Pavilion is a place of heartbreaking,
where we see off our guests.
spring breeze so knows suffering of parting,
that turns the willow twigs not green.

【金沙文字译本】

Where's the place of heartbreaking
It's the pavillion by the name of Laolao Ting
Spring breeze sympathizes with parting
And has stopped willow's hairs to green

自娱自乐

Inspired by Wuxinjian's superb version, I also try my hand at it for fun.


天下伤心处，
劳劳送客亭。

In terms of yishi's theory, my shoddy one has used far too many words, not like Wuxinjian's, so laconic.
