湖畔一对中年男女

像青年，抱得很紧……

Do you mean 'imitating / mimicking?
Actually, it will be simple to say "hold / hug each other tight like youngsters', of course, 'embracing' is fine.

embracing each other tightly =/=  越抱越紧
越抱越紧 = embrace increasingly tight

这样翻译读起来感觉好一些 比较接近 越抱越紧 的意思

感谢上面四君子的各种意见！
“越抱越紧”，我只是远看，究竟多紧也不知道。
想学非马君，自己的作品不一字一字地翻，可以有出入。因是双语作品，而不是翻译。
非马有时句子都不一样，我提意见，他说“有意为之”。
