桂殿长愁
Endless Grief in the Laurel Palace

桂殿长愁不记春，
黄金四壁起秋尘。
夜悬明镜青天上，
独照长门宫里人。
The endless grief makes her feel no spring at all;
The golden bower locks the autumn dust in flight.
The bright mirror hangs in the blue sky tonight,
Shining on nobody but her in the Long-Gate Hall.

The Laurel Hall in grief for long senses not spring fair;
In golden bower the autumn dusts arise ev’rywhere.
Tonight a mirror bright hanging on the sky clear
Shines on her alone in the Long-gate Hall so drear.

The autumn dust at the golden bower is floating.
Tonight on an azure sky hangs a mirror bright,

Yeah, it should be 'grief', however, 'griefs' is fine as well.
Found in dictionary: English > English.

Anyway, do you by chance have OALD 7th edition at hand? Please check it out under the entry of grief.

As for 'dust', I think it is uncountable, right?

grieves - v, third person present, do you mean?

我说的grieves是grief的复数形式。griefs并不常用吧，把它写在word文档里都会被提示拼写错误。
grievance似乎在莎士比亚时代才作为“忧愁”解吧?在现代该词的意思已成了“委屈, 不满, 怨恨“之类。
dust确实是不可数的，谢谢。

Yep, it is pretty rare, nevertheless it is accepted by Oxford dictionary, so I reckon it is ok to use it in this way, whereas your 'grieves', are you sure 'grieves' is the plural form of grief?
Usually, if it is a word like 'leaf', any dictionary will tell you its different plural form.
leaf -----leaves (change f to ves)
