谢谢！读完最后一个网友的评论，感觉我们的思路很吻合，很开心。里面真对我的问题的评论是：
The poet tells us that this fear, makes him pessimistic all the time. When he sees the clouds in the sky, he thinks that death is close to him and his worry and fear begin to increase. Though, he says, that these clouds are symbols of romanticism, they frighten him so much.
我觉得这首诗里面
When I have fear that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain,
Before high piled books, in charactry,
Hold like rich garners the full ripen'd grain;
When I behold, upon the night's starred face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And think that I may never live to trace
Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance;
这是诗人对壮志未酬身先死的恐惧。壮志当然是指济慈对文学的寄托和抱负，他要成为第一流的诗人。【fame】
And when I feel, fair creature of an hour,
That I shall never look upon thee more,
Never have relish in the faery power
Of unreflecting love;
这是诗人对纯真爱情将要陨灭的悲叹。【love】
[When he sees the clouds in the sky, he thinks that death is close to him and his worry and fear begin to increase. ] 我不同意这位网友的看法。我觉得济慈看到huge cloudy symbols of a high romance的时候，未必是预感死亡的来临，——虽然每个人死之前对死亡都有预感（好像唐宋传奇里有人说过这么一句话），——而是他担心自己活不到那一天，用生花妙笔将它描摹。这才是他要表达的意思。 |
