Written to the Rhyme of Yellow Stork Winehouse by Cui Hao of Tang Dynasty
The poet also gone with the yellow stork
Leaving behind his poem of Yellow Stork Winehouse
He’d gone and never returned like the yellow stork
The clouds floating freely for another thousand years
People came and went, but the winehouse is still there
Flowers bloom and fall, yet they fill the shoal
Don’t fail to live up to Spring, and get drunk
How much sorrow there’d have been from olden time till now
Yellow Stork Winehouse
by Cui Hao
The man in past long gone, riding a yellow stork,
And here left vainly is the Yellow Stork Winehouse.
Once gone and never back, so is the yellow stork;
For thousand years vainly floating are the white clouds.
Trees on river at Hanyang are clearly in sight;
And grass on Parrot Shoal is luxuriant and green.
Where's the hometown when the sun's setting in twilight?
The river and waves in mists putting me in spleen.
