花前小立影徘徊,
Ok, let our imagination run wild.
Supposedly, this maiden is taking a stroll in her garden; she walks here and there idly, and then she comes to a flowerbed, she slows down, and stops her walking, and then stands there before the flowers momentarily while she is sobbing or weeping for she is feeling so miserable, for she is so lonely, or she has been dumped by her beau, she tries very hard to hold her tears back, therefore her shoulders are sort of shrugging all the time, which makes her shadow in the moonlight move to and fro or rove this way and that way, and then she moves on towards somewhere that the poet didn't feel it was his concern at all.
All in all, all of these mentioned above could take place in just a few seconds or minutes only, it is a snapshot...hehehe, |
