Farewell to My Friend

青山横北郭，白水绕东城。
此地一为别，孤蓬万里征。
浮云游子意，落日故人情。
挥手自兹去，萧萧班马鸣。

The green hills lie across north of the city,

The white river flows around east of the city.

Just at this place, good-bye to you I'll say,

Like a lonely fleabane you'll go far away.

You'll be wandering like the cloud drifting,

I'm so reluctant to part like the sun setting.

Waving my hand, I see you're going slow,

The horse's also neighing for our sorrow.

10、长相思

长相思，在长安。
络纬秋啼金井阑，
微霜凄凄簟色寒。
孤灯不明思欲绝，
卷帷望月空长叹。
美人如花隔云端。

My endless longing lingers around Chang'an.
Autumn katydids chirp on golden well-railings,
And the light frost chills my bamboo mat.
I'm buried in the longing by a dim lonely lamp;
Rolling up the curtain, I watch the moon and sigh.
Alas, my flowery beauty is so far away from me.

上有青冥之长天，
下有渌水之波澜。
天长路远魂飞苦，
梦魂不到关山难。
长相思，摧心肝。

Over my head is the high and vast sky;
Below my feet is the wavy and clear water.
Such a long way greatly tortures my soul,
For it cannot pass fortresses and mountains.
The endless longing is breaking my heart.

11、将进酒

Drink Wine With Me

李白

君不见黄河之水天上来，
奔流到海不复回。
君不见高堂明镜悲白发，
朝如青丝暮成雪。

Don't you see the Yellow River from the heaven
Flowing at great speed to the sea with no return?
Don't you see the mirror in the mansion grieve for hair
Turning from black at dawn to snow-white at dusk?

人生得意须尽欢，
莫使金樽空对月。
天生我材必有用，
千金散尽还复来。
烹羊宰牛且为乐，
会须一饮三百杯。

I'll enjoy myself to the full when I have my day,
Not letting my gold goblet face the moon in vain.
My innate talent must be of great use one day;
The wealth will return again after it's squandered.
O let me have fun in cooking beef and mutton,
And drink three hundred cups of wine so high.

岑夫子，丹丘生，
将进酒，杯莫停。
与君歌一曲，
请君为我倾耳听。

O Chen Xun, Yuan Danqiu, my friends
Please drink wine with me cup after cup.
I want to sing a song just for you,
Please hearken to me with your heart

钟鼓馔玉不足贵，
但愿长醉不复醒。
古来圣贤皆寂寞，
惟有饮者留其名。

Gold and jade are really worth nothing,
I only wish to be drunk in a long long sleep.
Down the ages sages have drowned in solitude,
Only great drinkers can leave their fames in history.

陈王昔时宴平乐，
斗酒十千恣欢谑。
主人何为言少钱，
径须沽取对君酌。

King Chen enjoyed a cheerful banquet in the past,
They drank myriads of cups of wine as they pleased.
Why do you complain I don't have enough money?
Give me enough wine and I will drink with my friends.

五花马，千金裘，
呼儿将出换美酒，
与尔同销万古愁。

Behold! my handsome horse and fur coat.
I will call them out to exchange good wine.
O let's drink high to melt our age-old sorrow.

Grievous Love

深坐颦蛾眉。
但见泪痕湿，
不知心恨谁。

The fair lady rolls up the pearl screen,
She is frowning for so long she waits.
Only her wet tear stains can be seen,
Unknown who in her heart she hates.

You ask me why I perch on the green hill,

Peach blossoms go with the stream at will,
Such a wonderland out of the world I see.

众鸟高飞尽，
孤云独去闲。
相看两不厌，
只有敬亭山。

Beyond sight all birds fly high,
A lonely cloud drifts at leisure.
Only the Mount Jingting and I
Watch each other in pleasure.

15、望庐山瀑布

Viewing the Waterfall at Mount Lu

李白

日照香炉生紫烟，
遥看瀑布挂前川。
飞流直下三千尺，
疑是银河落九天。

Purple mist rises from the Censer Peak in sunlight,
Viewed from afar the waterfall hangs like a screen.
Rushing down about three thousand feet in height,
As if the Milky Way is falling from the empyrean.
