Three Songs of Pure Happiness

云想衣裳花想容，
春风拂槛露华浓。
若非群玉山头见，
会向瑶台月下逢。

Her dress is like a cloud and her face a flower;
Spring breeze sways railings with dews bright.
She is either on the Jade Mountains that tower
Or on the Fairy Terrace under the moonlight.

一枝红艳露凝香，
云雨巫山枉断肠。
借问汉宫谁得似？
可怜飞燕倚新妆。

O, such a red peony with fragrant dew's glow,
The Goddess on Mount Wu drowns in sorrow.
Such beauty, who in Han Palace could show?
Only when dressing up lovely Flying Swallow.

名花倾国两相欢，
长得君王带笑看。
解释春风无限恨，
沉香亭北倚阑干。

Famous flower and ravishing beauty are delightful,
Often enjoyed by the Emperor with smiles cheerful.
His infinite sorrows are being melted into oblivion,
When she leans upon the railing of Incense Pavilion.

Seeing Meng Haoran off to Guangling

故人西辞黄鹤楼，
烟花三月下扬州。
孤帆远影碧空尽，
惟见长江天际流。

My old friend leaves the Yellow Crane Tower so high,
Going east to Yangzhou in the flowery March so fine.
When the lonely sail drifts far away into the blue sky,
I only see the Great River flowing beyond the skyline.

The Meeting With My Friend

涤荡千古愁，留连百壶饮。
良宵宜清谈，皓月未能寝。
醉来卧空山，天地即衾枕。

To wash grief through thousands of ages away,
In hundreds of pots of good wine we would stay.
The idle talk is suitable for the beautiful night,
How can we fall asleep under th moon so bright.
We lie on the empty mountain as drunk we grow,
The sky and earth serve as our quilt and pillow.

A Night in a Hill Temple

手可摘星辰。
不敢高声语，
恐惊天上人。

The tower is so high into the cloud
That I could pick the stars by hand.
Alas! I really dare not speak aloud
To scare gods in the heavenly land.

Watching Mount Tianmen

李白

天门中断楚江开，
碧水东流至此回。
两岸青山相对出，
孤帆一片日边来。

Mount Tianmen is split open by the Chu River,
Here east-flowing blue water is forced to linger.
The green hills on both banks run into my eyes,
A single sail is looming from afar by the sunrise.

Endless Grief in the Laurel Palace

桂殿长愁不记春，
黄金四壁起秋尘。
夜悬明镜青天上，
独照长门宫里人。

The endless grief makes her feel no spring at all;
The golden bower locks the autumn dust in flight.
The bright mirror hangs in the blue sky tonight,
Shining on nobody but her in the Long-Gate Hall.

超腾若飞雪。
牵引条上儿，
饮弄水中月。

In Qiupu so many white gibbons grow,
Hopping and jumping like dancing snow.
They pull children on the branches together
To drink and play with the moon in the water.
