To the west of Yang Pass, O no old friends so fine!

Drinking Alone Under the Moon

花间一壶酒，独酌无相亲。
举杯邀明月，对影成三人。
月既不解饮，影徒随我身。
暂伴月将影，行乐需及春。
我歌月徘徊，我舞影零乱。
醒时同交欢，醉后各分散。
永结无情游，相期邈云汉。

I put a pot of wine amongst the flowers,
Drinking alone to spend my lonely hours.
I lift my cup to invite the Moon so bright,
With my Shadow we're a trinity in sight.
The drinking joy the Moon doesn't know,
I'm only followed in vain by my Shadow.
I stay together with them for a short time,
To make merry when spring's at its prime.
The Moon lingers around while I'm singing,
The Shadow's in a mess while I'm dancing.
When sober, we enjoy pleasures together,
When drunken, here and there we scatter.
Let this unworldly friendship forever remain,
Till we meet far away in the Milk Way again.

O dear, when you think of returning home,

O spring breeze, we don't know each other,
Why through my silk curtain do you blow?

这是一首描写思妇心绪的诗。开头两句以相隔遥远的燕秦春天景物起兴，写独处秦地的思妇触景生情，终日思念远在燕地卫戍的夫君，盼望他早日归来。三、四句由开头两句生发而来，继续写燕草方碧，夫君必定思归怀己，此时秦桑已低，妾已断肠，进一层表达了思妇之情。五、六两句，以春风掀动罗帏时，思妇的心理活动，来表现她对爱情坚贞不二的高尚情操。全诗以景寄情，委婉动人。

鱼跃青池满，莺吟绿树低。
野花妆面湿，山草纽斜齐。
零落残云片，风吹挂竹谿。

Over cool fields the sparse rain stops,
Spring makes plants everywhere grow.
Fish leap in the green pond that's full,
Orioles sing in the trees drooping low.
The wild flowers' cheeks are still wet,
Neat and tidy is the mountain meadow.
Several fragments of clouds fall down
On the bamboo stream as winds blow.
