Her fairy sleeves were billowing in wind so elegant,
As if she was dancing her Rainbow and Feather Raiment.
Yet loneliness imprinted on her pretty face with tearstains,
Like a pear blossom was drenched in spring rains.

She thanked the emperor with affections in her eye,
Since parting, his voice and visage had never been nigh.
Their passionate love in Zhaoyang palace was long over,
Yet her life in Penglai temple would be forever and ever.

She turned and gazed down at this human world,
Nothing like Changan in sight but mist and dust swirled.
To show her deep feelings she took out old gifts as a token,
And then a gold hairpin and an inlaid box were chosen.

She'd send emperor part of the box and the hairpin,
As she split the box in half as well as the gold pin.
If our love could be like the box and the gold that strong,
We'd reunite in heaven or elsewhere in the world however long.

Now I'd like to take some rest before working on the last part of this bloody long poem, hehehe

When parting, she asked the Taoist to take back a couplet.
Only the emperor and she knew the solemn vow hidden in it.
On the seventh of seventh moon in Longevity hall at midnight,
They once pledged to each other when no one else was in sight.

“In the sky we'd like to be the birds flying side by side.”
“On earth we'd like to be the trees inseverably tied.”
The heaven and earth, however immortal, may end one day,
Yet only this very regret would never ever go away.

Ok, finally finished, so now I'd like to seize this very moment to thank yishi for his encouragement, whithout which I am pretty sure I would have terribly missed the golden opportunity to appreciate this epoch-making poem.

And I'd also thank Mr. Iron for his 'harsh' nit-picking, which is quite essential for my work. Thank you, Mr. Iron!

Last but not least, I'd like to give my big thank-you to Mr. Wuxinjian for his support and true friendship, without which I don't think I would've sustained.

Many thanks to all of you!
