何谓‘翻’?

一般都会想到‘flip / flick / roll / tumble / turn
何谓‘翻滚’?
翻滚 fāngǔn
(1) [boil]∶[水] 上下滚动
波浪翻滚
(2) [roll]∶打滚
孩子们不是在草里翻滚,就是在小河里玩水
(3) [tumble]∶作滚翻、转体动作
为保持身体健康,将军每天翻滚若干次
何谓‘翻腾’?
翻腾 fānténg

乌黑的水,在那些伸出水面的岩石上打旋翻腾
上下波動 = or =/= 上下滚动?
何谓‘波动?
波动 bōdòng

(3) 像波浪那样起伏不定;不稳定
何谓‘tumbling'?
If someone or something tumbles somewhere, they fall there with a rolling or bouncing movement.
何谓‘bouncing'?
When an object such as a ball bounces or when you bounce it, it moves upwards from a surface or away from it immediately after hitting it.
有‘upwards', 必定会有‘downwards' - sth like this ^^^^^^^^^
何谓‘roll'?
When something rolls or when you roll it, it moves along a surface, turning over many times.
何谓'roll up'?
Roll up means the same as roll.
Stein rolled up the paper bag with the money inside
何谓‘roll down'?
If drops of liquid roll down a surface, they move quickly down it.
She looked at Ginny and tears rolled down her cheeks.
If you roll up something such as a car window or a blind, you cause it to move upwards by turning a handle. If you roll it down, you cause it to move downwards by turning a handle.
