"tumbling' 是滾翻之意﹐不是上下波動。又反映出你不能確切掌握詞義。

又﹕如果英文中沒有相應詞語﹐只能作接近翻譯。這不能看作繞過難點。

ROLL的確夠了﹐但寫作或翻譯還要考慮平衡。如果對句子平衡沒有概念的話﹐不說
也罷。

譯文當然可能有多種﹐但除了EVELOPE﹐難道沒有別的動詞可用了嗎﹖VEIL還是可以
的。

討論問題時﹐別人有了不同看法﹐很正常。但我也可以對不同看法提出我的意見。
難道非得認為你們的看法是正確的不成﹖這是不是有點霸道﹖當我提出不同意的看
法時﹐我根本不在乎別人是否同意。我只是發表我的看法。老實說﹐譬如確切用詞
問題﹐有虛心者可以學些東西﹐不肯虛心﹐還要強調不對的看法﹐也不關我的事。

我在各論壇上都說過﹕要表示自己有水平的話﹐不是貶低別人的水平﹐而是通過自
己作品的展示來表示出自己的水平。要表示有水平的﹐請把白居易的“長恨歌”譯
一下。否則----似乎----啊----在----默認----自己----啊----沒----水平﹖或者
譯下江淹的“別賦”吧。

海外前辈，您贬低许译也不是一次两次了，请您不妨将《西厢记》、《牡丹亭》也翻译一下，以此表示您的高超水平吧！这两部作品，许前辈都译过的。
