between a rule and a wall
no matter to which side he moves a bit
the wood on that side will split

(suppose this rule is relative
and falls down, but hard to split)

为了破壁他生得丑
为了破壁他种下了
两畦青菜

to break obsession he grows ugly
to break obsession he plants
two plots of green vegetables

早上的脸从
玻璃中浮上来。
浴室，剃刀，墙，妻子
一一恢复了原形

the face in the morning
surfaces from the glasss
the bathroom, razor, wall and wife
restore one after another

窗外，光线
产生了。
鸟儿问答，关于
每天都在失去的身子

outside the window
the light begins to shine
the bird questions and answers
about the body being lost every day

仅用比喻度过这一日
是再好不过的解脱了：
“她们。我。那时。”像花落和人亡
沉浸在两不知里

no better relief can be found
to spend the day only with metaphors
"they, I, at that time"
just as maidens and flowers are dead
in the ignorance between each other

我多么渴望不规则的轮回
早点到来，我那些栖居在鹳鸟体内
蟾蜍体内、鱼的体内、松柏体内的兄弟姐妹
重聚在一起
大家不言不语，都很疲倦
清瘦颊骨上，披挂着不息的雨水

how I long for the earlier coming
of the irregular transmigration
then my brothers and sisters who perch
in toads, fish, pine and cypress trees
would enjoy the reunion
they all keep silent in great tiredness
on their thin cheekbones rolls restless rain

一个铁匠

A Blacksmith

鹅卵石和干牛粪，砌成了小院
高大的杉树，荫及恶邻。
他是个瞎子
打铁时
屈左膝抵住炉门
右耳牵动眉尖奇怪地朝上抽搐着
以谛听薄刃的来临

the small courtyard has been built
with pebbles and dried cow-dung
tall cedars shade the evil neighbors
he is a blind man
when he hammers the iron
he bends his left knee against the firedoor
his right ear lifts his eyebrow with strange twitches
to listen whether the thin blade comes

锻打，再锻打
在废铁中炼出刀子
再把刀子揉回废铁。
如果我的瞎是前世的罪孽
就必须承受这反复的天谴

hammer after hammer
he produces knives from waste iron
and then kneads knives into waste iron
if his blindness results from sins in his prelife
he has to bear the repeated scourges

村里再没有人拿谷物和菠菜
交换他的铁具。
但人们需要
他的锻打，再锻打
当他停下
夜间少女就会月经失调
有人会无端端地疯掉
尖叫着往井里跳。
烂屋檐下的春风吹拂着他的孤单
他用一生作废延续着乡村的平安。

no villagers exchange his iron tools
with their corns and spinach any more
but they need
his hammering after hammering
when he stops his work
at night maidens will suffer menstrual disorder
some people will get mad for no reason
and jump into the well with screeches
spring breeze under ruined eaves blows his loneliness
but he continues the village's peace by wasting all his life

中秋，忆无常

黄昏，低垂的草木传来咒语，相对于
残存的廊柱，草木从不被人铭记。
这些年，我能听懂的咒语越来越少
我把它归结为回忆的衰竭。相对于
死掉的人，我更需要抬起头来，看
杀无赦的月亮，照在高高的槟榔树顶

at nightfall, incantations are heard from drooping plants
relative to surviving colonnades, plants are never enshrined
these years see less and less incantations understood by me
which I attribute to the exhaustion of my memory
relative to the deceased people, I need more to look up
at the unforgiven moon shining on the top of areca trees

几年前，当我读到乔治·巴塔耶，
我随即坐立不安。
一下午我牢牢地抓着椅背。
“下肢的鱼腥味”、“对立”：瞧瞧巴大爷爱用的这些词。
瞧瞧我这人间的多余之物。

several years ago, I would feel restless
when I read the works of George Bataille
the whole afternoon I held the chair-back tight
"the fishy smell of lower limbs" and "opposition"
behold the words preferred by Uncle Bataille
behold me, a superfluous man in the world

脱胎换骨是不必了。
也不必玩新的色情。
这些年我被不相干的事物养活着。
―――我的偶然加上她的偶然，
这相见叫人痛苦。

needless to thoroughly remold myself
or play with any new pornography
these years I have been fed by irrelevant things
—— with my chance plus her chance
this meeting drowns us in pain

就像15岁第一次读到李商隐。在小喷水池边，
我全身的器官微微发烫。
有人在喊我。我几乎答不出声来―――
我一口气跑到那堵
不可解释的断墙下。

just as I read Li Shangyin for the first time at fifteen
by the small fountain, all my organs burned slightly
someone called me, but I hardly replied ——
in one breath I ran to the ruined wall
that went beyond any explanation

秋天的斩首行动开始了：
一群无头的人提灯过江，穿过乱石堆砌的堤岸。
无头的岂止农民？官吏也一样
他们掀翻了案牍，干血般的印玺滚出袖口。
工人在输电铁架上登高，越来越高，到云中就不见了。
初冬时他们会回来，带着新长出的头颅，和
大把无法确认的碎骨头。围拢在嗞嗞蒸腾的铁炉旁
搓着双手，说的全是顺从和屈服的话语

the decapitation strike in autumn got started
a gang of headless men crossed the river with lanterns
through the bank that was piled with ripraps
only farmers were headless? it was also true of officials
they overturned their official documents
and the imperial seal like dried-blood rolled out from sleeves
workers climbed on the iron framework for electricity transmission
higher and higher, and finally they vanished into the clouds
in the early winter, they would return with newly-grown heads
and a bulk of broken bones beyond identification
they crowded around the iron furnace with strong evaporation
rubbed their hands, and said nothing but obedient and subdued words
