To Deceased Father

爸爸，见你之前
我在半山坡的槐树林走了很久
人生至此
一草一木，都让我珍惜。这些年
我不比一株植物更富有

dad, before I see you
I've walked for a long while
in the pagoda grove on the hillside
alas, at this stage of my life
I cherish every grass and every tree
these years I'm not richer than a plant

现在，我是平常的妇人，值得信赖的母亲
我的言行使人放心。爸爸
再过几十年，我也会这样静静地躺下来
命运所赐的，都将一一归还

now, I'm a plain woman, a faithworthy mother
my words and deeds can set others' mind at rest
dad, several decades later, I'll also lie down silently
returning everything endowed by fate one by one

那时，除了几只起起落落的麻雀
或许
还有三两朵野花
淡淡地开

Love is Mentioned Once More

爱一只蚂蚁
你必须弯腰，俯下身去
它那么细小的身躯
装满爱

if you love an ant
you must bend down
its small body

爱无大小
当爱成为一种力量

I remember that bee
just an ordinary laborer
it loves flowers and sweet life
from its birth to death

我见到它的时候
它正从一朵花上出发，走向
另一朵花。它不知道
它的劳作
把一朵花上的芬芳，带到
另一朵花上。让她
受孕，饱满
并将结下比蜜更甜的
果实

when I saw that bee
it left one flower for another
but didn't know its labor carried
the fragrance of one flower to another
it made her pregnant and plump
then she would bear fruit
sweeter than honey

Sick Tooth

牙医说——
牙疼的时候
把牙髓抽掉
牙就不疼了

the dentist says --
when a tooth aches
draw its dental pulp
to relieve the pain

被抽出牙髓的牙
等于抽走了灵魂
就成一颗假牙
它既不疼
也不快乐

without dental pulp
the tooth lost its soul
to be a false tooth
neither sore nor happy

Let Us Go for a Blow

在城市里，一盆花比一个人更孤独
她无法四处走动，她每天
都朝着时光的一面
向东或向西，朝南或朝北

in the city, a pot of flowers are lonelier
than a person, for they cannot move about
but face one side of time every day
towards east or west, south or north

即使同在一个阳台
生活在同一个花盆里，一枝花的
喜悦或伤痛，始终无法
被另一枝花轻易说出

even if living in the same flower pot
on the same balcony
the joy or sorrow of one flower
can never be uttered easily
by another flower

年年如是。到达一个
我们两个人一起呆过的地方
东山或者西山。然后独自一个人
静静地坐上一天

so simple, I choose a day for myself
year in and year out to get to a place
where we two once stayed together
the east or west hill, then I alone
sit there in silence for a whole day

Encounter

一群无家可归的人
他们走在城市的花园里
努力寻找阳光
他们也想发芽

in spring, I encounter
a group of homeless men
they walk in urban gardens
trying to seek the sunshine
for they also want to sprout

此刻，他们低着头
正在寻找扎根的土地
他们没有抬头
只要他们一抬头，就会
露出春天羞涩的脸

now, they lower their heads
seeking the earth to take root
they do not raise their heads
as long as they raise their heads
a shy face of spring will show

Thanksgiving Day

你的爱，你的疼
你给我送来了你疲惫的身体
已经足够了。你说：
“今天的病情感觉好了很多
今天咳嗽的时候，没有昨天那么多的血。”
为此，我要对今天的生活
再一次说出感恩

with your love and your pain
you bring me your fatigue body
it is already enough; you say:
"today I get better of my sickness
coughing up less blood than yesterday"
so I will utter my gratitude
again to the today's life
