A Devoted Translator in Wine City

酒窖百里香，
城阙千年醉。
译诗费思量，
痴情终不悔。

Wine cellars spread bouquet a hundred miles away,
Gate towers have been drunk for a thousand years.
Poetry translation absorbs my mind night and day,
I will devote my regretless love to it till death nears.

Comment: This is a poem by Wuxinjian for self-motivation,which deeply moves me. I know I'm unable to render it into perfect English, yet I'd like to try my hand at it. Nevertheless who dares to stop me from doing so? No one does on this planet I'd say, hehehe, here I don't have to study anyone's face to interpret what their facial expression really mean, for fear I might tread upon their tails. I hate those who wear a mask...

酒窖百里香，

The town's been intoxicated for decades long.

Yet to which my dedication'll be ever strong.

Yearning-Brewed Wine

自古好梦不易醒，
梦里携手笑春风。
东西渺渺万重山，
相思酿酒醉残生。

Always so hard to awake from the dream at its best,
Where lovers smile together in spring breeze so fine.
They're separated by myriad hills from east to west,
The fading life gets drunk in yearning-brewed wine!

Climbing Mount Tai'an

煦日照泰安，
樱桃花满山。
一路吻春风，
浮生半日闲。

Mount Tai'an basks in the sunshine,
Everywhere cherry flowers so fine.
Spring breeze kisses us all our way,
What a carefree life for half a day!

风吹竹浪翻，
泉流水花溅。
赤脚行林间，
何惧三伏天。

The bamboo waves as wind blows,
Water splashes as the brook flows.
When I walk on my bare feet here,
The hottest summer I do not fear.

翻山无数重。

漫天秋意浓。

We rode bikes a thousand miles
Across many mountains so high.
We return with victorious smiles,
Autumn deepens all over the sky.

I stand for long before Hell; hark!

仙境何足羡，
高处不胜寒。
犹忆飞仙前，
相偎细呢喃。

The fairyland really deserves no envy,
The Moon Palace feels lonely and chill.
I still remember before I became a fairy,
We had nestled and whispered at will.

Everything Remains Idle

星斗横长夜，
松涛荡空山。
西窗阅金经，
无住万法闲。

Across the night sky the brilliant stars glow,
In the empty mountain the pine waves ripple.
I read the Diamond Sutra by the west window,
Without clinging, everything wil remain idle.

The Whole China in Great Sorrow

巨灾毁万家，神州同伤悲。
声声泣长天，亲人几时归？
总理赴灾区，日夜不辞累。
大爱汇成海，何难不可摧？

Thousands of families were ruined by the earthquake,
The people across China drown in the endless sorrow.
The survivors cry towards the vast sky without break,
When their close relatives come back who could know?
Premier Wen went to the quake-striken area in no time,
Composedly directing anti-disaster work night and day.
Thousands of love streams run into the ocean sublime,
What difficulties in anti-disaster can't be driven away?
